ROUTING: COCHIN- MUNNAR - HOUSEBOAT - COCHIN
You are greeted on arrival at Cochin Airport/Ernakulam Railway station and thereafter drive to Munnar a hill station (130 Kms/4 Hrs drive), located 1600 meters above sea level. Once the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in South India it still retains its colonial charm and is famous for its tea plantations, most of which are privately owned. With its sprawling estates, rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, picture postcard hamlets and undulating valleys, Munnar is an ideal holiday destination. En route visiting Cheyyapara & Valara waterfalls. Check into your hotel and unwind. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the ambience of Munnar. Overnight at Munnar.
Morning after breakfast 9 AM you can go for sightseeing Munnar which includes Tea Gardens, Tea Museum (will be closed on Mondays), Blossam Garden, Eco point, Mattupetty dam; you can also enjoy boating in the Lake (optional). Overnight at Munnar.
After breakfast art around 8 AM start your journey to Alleppey, popularly called the Venice of the East, to see the winding canals and an amazing network of backwaters. On arrival, you will be checking in to a traditional Kerala houseboat which will take you on a fabulous tour of the backwaters. Overnight stay will be in the Houseboat.
Morning after breakfast 9 AM checkout and drive to Cochin, en route visiting Marari Beach. On arrival continue with the local sightseeing tour of Cochin, here you can see the St Francis Church, the oldest Church in India, 500-year-old Portuguese Houses, Chinese fishing nets, 16th century Synagogue, Jew Town and Mattancherry Palace, built by Portuguese, this Palace contains some of India’s most beautiful murals. In the night departure transfer to Cochin Airport for onward journey. (NB - Jewish synagogue, Mattancherry Palace etc are closed on all Fridays & Saturdays)
